But don’t be fooled by its glitz and glamour. This resort definitely isn’t style over substance. You’ll find over 200km of ski slopes across five varied, picturesque resorts – ideal for every level.

Hiring a car can make it easier to get around, but all the resorts are well linked with an efficient train and bus system. Those on a more modest budget can stay in one of the villages along the valley – Schönried or Saanenmöser both make for a great base. And make sure you don’t miss out on Glacier 3000, one of Switzerland’s most snowsure areas.
